Start potty training immediately
Take your new puppy or puppy to the area in the yard where you would like him to go. Praise or give treats right there after the potty is complete. If you reward with treats only when you get back in the house, you will be rewarding the “act” of going “in” the house. Later, this might be a good plan of action for a pup that doesn’t want to come back in the house and takes his sweet time before coming back.
